Huawei confirmed release of 5G smartphone with a foldable screen in Mid-2019. The next upcoming Huawei flexy foldable smartphone will come with 5G network and power by HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC while the Kirin 980 chipset will paired with an Octa-core processor along side with Andreno 612 GPU for gaming. Huawei Flexy foldable phone might features 6.3-inch FHD + display with a 1080 x 2220 Pixels of resolution and 422 pixel per inch density.
We also believe that Huawei’s foldable phone will use an OLED flexible display technology that has been in development for several years now from manufacturers including Japan Display, LG Display, and Samsung Display.
At the IFA show earlier this month, Samsung CEO DJ Koh said that the Korean electronics giant plans to unveil a smartphone with a foldable screen by the end of the year. Huawei’s chief also said that 5G will be 100 times faster than 4G networks, and 50 times more responsive.
“In our first 5G smartphone, we are going to introduce a foldable screen. This is the first time to introduce foldable screens on a smartphone,” added Hu. “So let’s imagine, with much faster speed 100 times faster than today you’re going to enjoy an amazing high-definition video experience with a big screen on your smartphone.”
